Sharq newspaper recently published an insightful report delving into the activities of Iran's Art and Experience Cinema Group. The report featured discussions from prominent figures, including Mohammad Tayyeb, the director of the group, and accomplished film directors Majid Barzegar and Majid Reza Mostafavi, who provided multifaceted insights into the group's performance.
Reflecting on the center's past endeavours, Tayyeb acknowledged that much of the prior discourse revolved around the necessity for the group to engage in film production. "I completely agree with this sentiment. It is imperative that we invest in the production of artistic and experimental films, aligning with the expectations of the Iran Cinema Organization and my personal conviction," Tayyeb affirmed. He emphasized the importance of independent film producers being attentive to both artistic expression and audience engagement, asserting that neglecting the audience's role in the filmmaking process is untenable.
Majid Barzegar, renowned for directing "The Day Before Yesterday," a film released by Iran's Art and Experience Cinema Group, explained that the group was established to provide a platform for showcasing diverse and avant-garde Iranian films. Barzegar highlighted that the films presented might not always achieve commercial success, but the objective was to expose cinema audiences to alternative cinematic languages and works with a rich history in Iranian cinema.
Adding to the discourse, Majid Reza Mostafavi, director of "Unripe Pomegranates," elucidated on the group's artistic mission. He noted that the group was conceived to cultivate an appreciation for short and documentary films with an experimental and artistic perspective, distinct from the mainstream currents in Iranian cinema. Mostafavi, whose debut film was among the most-watched productions of the group, expressed a belief in the transformative power of art and experience, foreseeing it evolving into a cultural capital with lasting impact.
Heading the Art and Experience Film Group is Mohammad Tayyeb, with Ali Zadmehr serving as the center's public relations manager.

Art and Experience Cinema started its activity from October 2014, to be an opportunity for theatrical distribution of worthwhile arthouse movies chosen from non-commercial ones, in order to demonstrate the brilliance of their creators in the cinema community. It's nationwide screenings, cultural events, and workshops also makes a profound impact towards improving Iranian filmgoer’s knowledge regarding movies as well as flourishing artistic aspects of Iranian cinema.
