Following the special screenings of artistic and experimental films, the first series of "Cinema, Portrait" was held at Mellat Cinema Complex, Tehran, from August 12-17, 2023.
According to the public relations report of Art and Experience Cinema Group, this event was dedicated to the screening of interesting and spectacular documentaries about the great cinematographers of the history of cinema.
These documentaries were screened every day from 19:00 and after the film screening, a review session was attended by Amir Qaderi, a famous cinematographer, along with a discussion about the movie character in question.
In this event, the documentary films including "Fellini Never-ending " directed by Eugenio Cappuccio, the documentary " Django & Django”, Directed by Luca Rea, the documentary "The Soul of Peter Sellers" directed by Peter Maddock, the documentary " Lynch/Oz”, Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, the documentary "Foreman vs. Foreman" directed by Helena Treshtikova and Jacob Hina and the documentary "Eyes of Orson Welles" directed by Mark Cousins with Farsi subtitles were screened.
Fereydoun Jirani, Behrouz Afkhami, Ahmad Alasti, Farzad Motman, and Alireza Raisian were present as guest experts in these meetings.
This event was organized by the Art and Experience Cinema Group in cooperation with the Center for the Development of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Cinema, the Cinema Heqarit Festival, the Cinema Cafe website, and the Mellat Cinema Complex.
This program was managed by Mohammad Tayyeb, the director of the Iran' Art and Experience Cinema Group, and the meetings were conducted by Ali Zadmehr, the director of public relations of the group.
